ศูนย์ศึกษาธรรมชาติป่าชุมชนและท่องเที่ยวเชิงนิเวศน์ บ้านทุ่งหยีเพ็ง ตั้งอยู่ในพื้นที่บ้านทุ่งหยีเพ็ง หมู่ที่ 4 ตำบลศาลาด่าน อำเภอเกาะลันตา จังหวัดกระบี่ พื้นที่ทั้งหมดอยู่ในความดูแลของสถานีพัฒนาทรัพยากรป่าชายเลนที่ 26 (เกาะลันตา) กรมทรัพยากรทางทะเลและชายฝั่ง ศูนย์ศึกษาธรรมชาติฯ เป็นโครงการจัดการทรัพยากรธรรมชาติโดยชุมชนที่ผ่านกระบวนการเรียนรู้ ผ่านการคิด วิเคราะห์ และการฝึกอบรม รสทช. (ราษฎรอาสาสมัครพิทักทะเลและชายฝั่ง) รวมทั้งการศึกษาดูงานเพื่อเตรียมความพร้อมของชุมชนจนเข้าใจและสามารถดำเนินการในด้านการจัดการทรัพยากรทางธรรมชาติต่างๆ ในหมู่บ้านตัวเอง จึงเป็นทั้งแหล่งเรียนรู้และดำเนินกิจกรรมไปพร้อมๆ กับกิจกรรมในป่าชุมชนบ้านทุ่งหยีเพ็ง บ้านทุ่งหยีเพ็งเป็นชุมชนที่ล้อมรอบไปด้วยป่าชายเลนที่มีความอุดมสมบูรณ์แห่งหนึ่ง นอกจากเป็นสถานที่ที่สามารถเดินชมธรรมชาติอันบริสุทธิ์แล้วยังมีกิจกรรมอื่นๆ เช่น ล่องเรือแจวโบราณ นั่งเรือหางยาวชมธรรมชาติป่าโกงกาง ชมเกาะต่างๆ เดินศึกษาธรรมชาติ พายเรือคายัค ปลูกหญ้าทะเล ปลูกป่า ชมวิถีชีวิตชุมชน ปั่นจักรยาน เป็นต้น

Thung Yee Peng Community Forest Nature Education and Ecotourism Center

The Thung Yee Peng Community Forest Nature Education and Ecotourism Center is located in the area of Ban Thung Yee Peng, Village No. 4, Sala Dan Sub-district, Ko Lanta District, Krabi Province. The entire area is under the supervision of the Mangrove Resource Development Station 26 (Ko Lanta), Department of Marine and Coastal Resources (DMCR).

The Nature Education Center is a community-based natural resource management project developed through a process of learning, analysis, and training for DMCR Volunteers (Royal Sea and Coastal Protection Volunteers), as well as study trips to prepare the community. This process ensured the community understood and was capable of managing the natural resources within their own village.

Thus, it serves as both a learning center and a place for carrying out activities alongside the operations of the Ban Thung Yee Peng community forest. Ban Thung Yee Peng is a community surrounded by one of the most fertile mangrove forests.

In addition to being a place where visitors can walk and enjoy the pristine nature, there are other activities available, such as:

• Riding traditional dugout boats (Jaew boats).
• Taking long-tail boat rides to see the mangrove forest nature and various islands.
• Nature study walks.
• Kayaking.
• Planting seagrass.
• Reforestation/tree planting.
• Observing the community way of life.
